Abstract

This research was conducted in Resam Lapis Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the economic and business feasibility of plant processing on peat land in Resam Lapis Village. Data collection methods are carried out by (1) observation or direct observation in the field; (2) interviews with selected respondents; (3) recording of all secondary data from sources of information related to research; (4) literature study by collecting data from various sources including journals, books, research results, proceedings, or other scientific writings. (5) Assumption of peat land used is 1,400m2. The assessment of the types of plants that can be planted on peatlands is based on the depth or thickness, pH and type of peat maturity. Meanwhile, the feasibility parameters evaluated include the financial feasibility of Total Revenue, Net Profit, Break Even Point (BEP), Return On Investment (ROI), Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C). The results showed that from the aspect of financial feasibility, the whole plant was feasible to run and developed more optimally. This research is expected to contribute in providing input related to the use of peatlands that can provide the most optimal economic benefits in other peatland distribution areas.
